Albert Einstein on Life-Sustaining Treatment in the ICU

Albert Einstein died 60 years ago.  This was right before a revolution in end-of-life medicine, right before ICU’s, mechanical ventilators, CPR, dialysis, etc.  But even had these been available in 1955, it is unclear Einstein would have wanted them.  He said:

“I want to go when I want.  It is tasteless to prolong life artificially. I have done my share, it is time to go.  I will do it elegantly.”
