Treat ‘Til Transfer in Texas – Removing Provider Authority to Unilaterally Stop Life Sustaining Treatment

We are following two bills that would amend the Texas Advance Directives Act to require that healthcare providers administer disputed life-sustaining medical treatment until the patient is transferred to a new provider willing to provide that treatment.  

The two bills, introduced in March, are H.B. 4090 (Klick) and S.B. 1213 (Hughes).
