For years, pro-life anti-abortion groups have been reallocating more resources to focus not only on issues at the beginning of life but also on issues at the end of life. Many have even funded lawsuits demanding continued "treatment" for patients determined dead. 

This is not limited to the United States. Most recently, the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) has agreed to fund an appeal in the case of Pippa Knight, a 5-year-old who suffered severe brain damage from acute necrotizing encephalopathy. On January 8, 2021, the British High Court ruled that is was not in Pippa's "best interests" to keep her on a ventilator.
