We are recruiting for a full-time (100% FTE, 12-month service period), tenure-track faculty position in the School of Medicine of the Department of Bioethics & Humanities at Assistant or Associate Professor level, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The faculty member’s responsibilities will include:
• independent, extramurally funded research in bioethics and/or medical humanities;
• teaching in undergraduate, graduate, and other departmental educational programs; and
• university/departmental service.
The individual hired for this position will be expected to develop and eventually lead a vigorous, extramurally funded research program.

This position involves interpersonal skills, strong leadership, written and verbal communication with interdisciplinary teams, and an emphasis on establishing robust extramural funding and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Anticipated start date is summer/early fall 2019.
Candidates must have a doctoral or terminal degree in a bioethics-related discipline (e.g., PhD, MD, JD, or foreign equivalent) as well as education and demonstrated expertise in bioethics and normative ethics. Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: philosophy, history, religious studies, law, literature, anthropology, sociology, health policy, public health, health services research, or related disciplines to complement and/or expand current areas of faculty expertise.
