The Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an experienced Program Manager to manage the administrative and operational aspects of the Center’s robust clinical ethics services at our affiliate hospital locations. This position reports to the Program Directors of the clinical ethics services and to the Center’s Administrator.
The Center’s mission in clinical ethics is to serve as national leaders in exemplary ethics consultation and education driven by innovative research and the development of transformative policies and practices, with the goal of enhancing the quality of healthcare within diverse institutions. The Center has one of the largest and highest volume clinical ethics programs in the country, serving adult, pediatric, private, and public hospital systems through its core faculty, fellows, staff, and secondary faculty.
The successful candidate will work closely with Center leadership, faculty program directors, and affiliate partners of our clinical ethics service lines to advance and accomplish the overall mission and goals of the programs.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day administrative and operational aspects of the Center’s clinical ethics consultation services at affiliate hospital locations.
Assures programs perform based on best practices, identifies and acts on opportunities for growth and improvement.
Together with faculty program directors and Center leadership, develops plans for short-term and long-term success by translating goals into program specific objectives and priorities.
Develops measurements and metrics to assess program impact and satisfaction.
Maintains clinical ethics consult database programs.
Prepares reports for program, Center, and affiliate hospital leadership.
Analyzes data with faculty program directors and Center leadership, using data to work collaboratively with affiliate partners and team members to continually enhance performance, identify and categorize trends, and positively impact outcomes and satisfaction.
Prepares meeting material for regularly occurring programmatic meetings.
Responsible for complex meeting scheduling related to the clinical ethics services including programmatic and committee meetings.
Prepares and manages the on-call schedule for clinical ethics consultants using QGenda.
Oversees credentialing process with affiliate hospitals for faculty, fellows, and staff.
Organizes and maintains ethics related educational activities at the affiliate hospital sites, including Bioethics Grand Rounds and other CME programs as required.
Oversees the accreditation process for CME credit related to educational activities.
Manages the programmatic budgets for the various clinical services.
Serves as the administrative contact between the clinical ethics programs and stakeholders at our affiliate hospitals.
Facilitates a cohesive clinical ethics program at the Center and builds collaborative opportunities across various institutions.

Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field required.
Master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field.
Two to three years of relevant work experience in a hospital or related setting.
Interest or experience with bioethics and/or clinical ethics preferred.
Demonstrated experience in project management, process improvement, planning, and execution.
Knowledge and experience with EPIC, QGenda, database management, project management software preferred.
Will require occasional flexibility in scheduling for early morning (pre-clinic) meetings and after hours Grand Rounds.
Ability to display a professional, positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills and communication skills required and must be able to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, efficient, and strong organizational skills.
Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in accepting work assignments with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, understand processes, and resolve issues.
