McGill Biomedical Ethics Unit / Studies of Translation, Ethics, and Medicine (STREAM) is inviting applications for a postdoctoral research fellow (PDF) with a background in research ethics, epidemiology, biostatistics, or meta-research.* Priority will be given to candidates with demonstrated knowledge of clinical trials and drug regulation.

The primary project will use meta-analytic methods to examine how the conduct of cancer clinical trials in large volume introduces inefficiencies and validity threats in drug development, ethical oversight, and drug regulation. This will be accompanied by policy and ethical analysis.

The PDF will work under the supervision of Jonathan Kimmelman, alongside co-investigators with expertise in Biostatistics, Philosophy, and Cancer. Responsibilities will include designing and conducting meta-analyses and evaluating policy and ethical dimensions. The PDF is encouraged to develop their own research within the scope of the project, and to publish both team and independently authored manuscripts.

Review of applications will proceed on a rolling basis and will continue until the position is filled.** Applications should include a cover letter describing research interests, a CV, a writing sample, and the contact information for 3 references. Applicants who do not have a completed Ph.D. at the time of application must include a letter from their Department Chair specifying the date of their dissertation defense.
