The Center for Bioethics at the Indiana University School of Medicine offers a two-year fellowship.
Since its founding in 2001, the Indiana University Center for Bioethics (IUCB), Indianapolis, Indiana, has conducted research in bioethics, taught undergraduate and graduate students, enhanced ethics and communication in scientific research and clinical care, and improved public understanding of bioethics. Our faculty investigators lead and collaborate on externally funded research projects in many areas, including patient decision-making and consent, health policy and public health, precision health and translational science, and electronic health records and health information. The IUCB is home to the Bioethics and Subject Advocacy Program (BSAP) of the Indiana Clinical and Translational Science Institute (I-CTSI) and the Behavioral Science and Ethics pillar of the IU Precision Health Initiative.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Participate in research and collaborative projects at the IU Center for Bioethics, potentially through qualitative or quantitative research regarding focus areas of precision medicine, biobanks, and/ or electronic health information (40% effort).
• Participate in IUCB research, consultation/ collaboration, teaching, and administrative efforts (30% effort)
• Conduct independent research projects in ethics, communication, health policy, or related areas (30% effort).

•Recent PhD in bioethics, philosophy, health policy, public health or a related field with a strong interest in bioethics.
•Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative social science research methods.
•Accomplished academic research and writing skills.

Salary Range: $50,004 – $61,308 based on experience and number of years post-PhD.
