Radio show hosts bashing words and behaviors promoted by President Donald Trump can be found over most airwaves these days. So, it no longer makes too much news when one or another uses airtime for calling out the president. But that is not the case for Dan Le Batard and ESPN.
The issue started late last week, after the media personality used his radio show to share some thoughts on a “send her back” chant aimed at Rep. Ilhan Omar during a Trump campaign rally in North Carolina. Le Batard said, “If you’re not calling it abhorrent, obviously racist, dangerous rhetoric, you’re complicit.” By making his point on-air, Le Batard crossed over the line of a no-politics policy instituted last year by ESPN President Jimmy Pitaro.
