Cloning Champion Horses -- Um, "Recreating Testicles"? Really?

When the first horse was cloned two years ago, we all knew this was coming. Scientists in Italy have just cloned the first champion racehorse, Pieraz. Pieraz is not a racetrack racehorse, where cloning technology would not be permitted, but is a long-distance racehorse, racing in endurance trials of up to 50 kilometers.

But Pietraz was castrated young, so cloning was the only way for him to reproduce. But the company’s explanation that cloning was the only way to “recreate his testicles” is just… weird.
