The Department of Philosophy at Oakland University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, beginning August 15, 2022. Area of specialization: Bioethics. Areas of competence: Open. Teaching load is 5 courses per year. We are especially interested in candidates prepared to teach sections of “Introduction to Ethics in Health Professions”, “Clinical Ethics”, and “Public Health Ethics” and to assist in growing our new Bioethics minor. Strong record or promise of scholarly publications and evidence of teaching excellence required. Candidates must demonstrate experience with, and a commitment to, diversity and inclusion. For qualified candidates who are interested, there may be opportunities for clinical ethics consultation at local hospitals, and for supplemental teaching at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and Beaumont Health.
PhD in Philosophy, Bioethics, or Health Care Ethics by August 15, 2022 is required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.
