Laulima Government Solutions, LLC is looking for a qualified Research Ethics and Integrity Scientist in Silver Spring, MD.


Candidate shall provide research ethics and integrity-based analysis, education, and expertise to the HSPB. Tasks include:

-Help design and conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses in the context of research studies of RCR/research ethics and research integrity based issues (i.e.- studies of attitudes and experiences of research participants, qualitative assessment of stakeholder opinions on research problems or issues, and similar types of investigation). This work requires knowledge and experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods including conducting interviews and focus groups, analyzing qualitative research findings, designing and conducting surveys, and performing statistical analysis.

-Assist with designing, organizing, and conducting regular RCR, scientific integrity, and research ethics training sessions for investigators and research staff at all sites, CONUS and OCONUS. Prepare materials and update materials in response to new information and policy, develop interactive training sessions, conduct regular evaluations of training sessions (for example, pre and post surveys), and analyze and respond to feedback regarding training sessions.

-Help develop and manage an RCR and research ethics consultation service for handling questions and problems from researchers and staff with regard to RCR issues, DRPs, research ethics, and related questions of scientific best practices. Compile resources and guidance for this service and assist with drafting an annual report on research ethics and integrity.

-Review and compile information on RCR and research ethics issues for staff and develop policy and guidance as needed. Attend relevant conferences addressing RCR, scientific integrity, and research ethics issues in order to update policies and practice as needed to stay current with best practices in the field.

-Support policy development for investigating potential problems in scientific conduct, including confidential reporting, tracking, collection of information, and expert guidance on handling and adjudicating potential problems within the arena of responsible conduct and best scientific practices.

-Work independently in generating appropriate strategies, outlines and work plans, carrying out research in a self-directed manner, preparing written summaries and reports, giving oral presentations and seminars, and producing publication quality documents.


– Minimum of Bachelors

–  Minimum of three years’ experience with qualitative and quantitative research skills and experience in a biomedical or health-related scientific research field.


– MA/MS and/or PhD highly preferred, in a Social Science or Science field.

– Experience with publishing peer-reviewed academic papers highly desired.

– Prior academic or programmatic experience with Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), research ethics, or research integrity.

– Grant writing experience.

– Prior experience with biomedical, clinical, or health research, including basic science research.


– Must be a U.S. citizen

– Must be able to obtain/maintain Public Trust.
